In a moment of deep gratitude, how do you express your feelings? After missing the mark in an interaction with a friend or transgressing a law, how do you make restitution? For the ancient Israelites, restitution for all types of transgressions and actions was made through the offering of sacrifices. In Vayikra, Moses delineates five types of sacrifices that were offered. Eventually, Jewishly, prayer replaced sacrifices and for many of us our worldviews changed as well. Even though we no longer offer sacrifices, Vayikra invites us to think about the ways we can bring holiness into our daily actions.
