Executive Assistant

Temple De Hirsch Sinai is looking for an experienced, detail oriented Executive Assistant to join our growing organization. The Executive Assistant would be supporting the Senior Rabbi and Executive Director by coordinating meetings, maintaining files and supporting the organization’s committees. This person would need to be extremely organized, have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complex calendars of Senior Rabbi and Executive Director by arranging meeting logistics, travel arrangements and appearances at community life cycle events.
  • Communicates directly, and on behalf of the Senior Rabbi, to board members, community and congregates in a warm and inviting demeanor.
  • Prioritize conflicting needs, correspond with congregants and screen calls appropriately.
  • Maintain Temple’s official records for conversions, marriages, b’nai mitzvah, births and deaths.
  • Oversee records for deaths in congregation and arrange with families this important life cycle event.
  • Support congregant committees, such as finance, investment, development and board by arranging committee meetings, maintaining official records, preparing materials and documenting meeting notes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at congregant or community events by greeting guests and assisting Senior Rabbi and Executive Director during event.
  • Assist Senior Rabbi and Executive Director with special projects and administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Experience supporting C-level executives in an administrative capacity.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise excellent judgement and discretion.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and databases.
  • Great Attitude!

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • 5 years of increased responsibility in an administrative position.

Events Coordinator

Temple De Hirsch Sinai is looking for an Events Coordinator to join our collaborative, growing team! The Events Coordinator would be primarily responsible for coordinating all logistics of facility rentals and events at temple. The ideal person would be extremely organized, have a high attention to detail and great communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate all Temple facility/events including services, committee meetings, Religion School, etc. with custodial staff, Religion School, outside groups, Member Services staff, JRM Preschool staff and office staff
  • Maintain and update facility calendar as well as website and external event calendars
  • Coordinate and share all event details with appropriate staff and stakeholders
  • Place weekly order for program food and supplies
  • Work with accounting on billing for facility usage, security and related catering costs
  • Take all calls and supply information to prospective one-time or ongoing facility rental users
  • Create and send out facilities use packets for all lifecycle events and facility rentals
  • Maintain file for all facility use activities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all prospective renters and congregants

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work and education
  • 1 year of facility rental experience
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • Comfortable working with Office 365 and Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of event coordinator experience
  • 1 year experience working within a non-profit organization

Early Childhood Education Teacher

Summary:

Jennifer Meade Rosen Preschool is the place for you! We are looking to grow our team with new preschool teachers to enable us to expand our preschool and accept more kids of a wider age range. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining control of and accounting for the whereabouts and safety of the children in care and ensuring children depart with authorized person.
  • Interacts with children using approved child guidance and development techniques in a positive nurturing environment while sustaining children’s interest and promoting positive interactions with other children and adults.
  • Prepares, arranges and maintains program environment areas and materials based on observed needs of individual children ranging in age from 4 weeks to 5 years using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold.

Specialists Needed for Project Based Learning Facilitator Positions

Temple De Hirsch Sinai is looking for a variety of specialists/facilitators to join us for the 2018-2019 school year as we start our 2nd year in a Project Based Learning model.

Unique talents or interests are welcome! Singers and guitar players, those with artistic or culinary talents, teachers who love the outdoors and/or have camp counselor experience, those with technical/video/social media skills, or creative writing skills we are looking for YOU!

This is a part time 6-8 hr a week 10-month position beginning ASAP and running through mid-May with time off for winter and spring breaks.

  • 4th Grade Position open on our Seattle (Capitol Hill) Campus.

Our philosophy: Guide students in an exploration of specific topics through focused choices allowing us to follow their lead in creating meaningful Jewish learning experiences. Students are not merely empty vessels in which we are meant to deposit information. Our role as adults is to facilitate their engagement with Jewish life and learning.

Part-Time Teachers Needed at Jewish Education Programs

A variety of positions available – from 8 week sessions to 11 month positions for grades K-8. Some positions already have curriculum and structure developed, and others have room for creative license.

We run programs all over town- in Seattle/Capitol Hill, Bellevue, Mercer Island, as well as local home cohorts.

Most opportunities take place on Sunday mornings and weekday evenings.
