As part of the Reform Jewish community, Temple De Hirsch Sinai is committed to working towards a better world, one in which we prioritize social justice, education, and equality among all people – we believe that “doing good” is also “doing Jewish.”
In life, work, and worship, we seek to share the Jewish experience and affirm our Temple values of integrity, inclusivity, diversity, responsiveness, and community. We collaborate with communal organizations so that we may serve the needs of our community with innovation and compassion.
Among our members, Temple has the dual blessing of deeply engaged generations-long members as well as newcomers who dive into Temple life enthusiastically. This union of existing and new members is a strong foundation on which our plans for the future may be built.
Jewish institutions must be proactive, engaging, and inspiring as we face a world that that is both increasingly fractured and longs for peace.
We welcome everyone in our Temple community as a member of our family (and we have 1,500 member families!)–Jewish and interfaith families, Jewish singles and single parents, youth and the elderly, Jews of color, LGBTQ families with or without children, and people with disabilities.
Temple is here for you as you begin or continue your spiritual journey. We are here for your family as you celebrate lifecycle events. We are here for our community as we balance the call of contemporary life with the spirit of our tradition.
Our Strategic Direction
Temple De Hirsch Sinai leads the community in Reform Jewish thought and practice, enriching the lives of our members and our community as we explore our Jewish possibilities together.
Our mission is to provide leadership in promoting Jewish ethical and moral concepts. We uphold the traditional values of our historic congregation, and strive to create a progressive and contemporary Jewish environment providing worship, education, lifecycle events, community building, and community service opportunities to all our members.
