Where do you encounter God’s presence? Where do you find Godliness? If even thinking about the concept of God feels like too much, then think about the last time you felt a deep sense of awe. Or think about the last time you felt immense feelings of love.
In our Torah portion this week, we read of the physical embodiment of God. God takes the form of a cloud and fills the Tabernacle, the traveling sanctuary. God’s presence is so great, Moses is unable to enter the space. While during the day God appeared as a cloud, in the dark of night God appeared as fire.
In Judaism, we do not often think about God having a physical form. Yet, we do talk of our ability to see and feel signs of God’s presence. This week, I invite you to look for God in both the mundane and the awe-inspiring.
