Two Minutes of Torah | Bo | Exodus 10:1-13:16

Did you hear the news? The sun will be setting after 5 PM today!

We are slowly emerging out of the darkest time of year here in the Northwest. With the additional light comes an additional sense of hope and change. Removing the darkness takes on a metaphorical quality as we look ahead to warmer days and new growth in the Spring.

Ironically, this week in our Torah, we read of the opposite phenomenon. As we gain light here, God unleashes the ninth plague on the Egyptians: three days of complete darkness. It was so dark they could not see one another, nor could they move about.

In what ways do you feel surrounded by darkness? As the sun sets later, what can you do to bring more light to the darkness around us?
