TWO MINUTES OF TORAH | CHUKAT | NUMBERS 19:1-22:1

How often do you take on other people’s stress? Have you ever been enjoying your day and suddenly you talk to someone who is angry and find that you are now angry? Moses experiences an infamous moment just like this in this week’s Torah portion, Chukat. After much complaining from the Israelites, he and Aaron plea with God to provide water. God instructs Moses to speak to a rock in order for it to provide water to the people. Instead, Moses strikes the rock with his staff and water erupts out of it. As a result of not listening to God, Moses will not enter into the Promised Land. Without the proper outlet for his stress, even Moses erupted inappropriately. What helps you act intentionally toward others? How can you strengthen that skill?
