TWO MINUTES OF TORAH | B’MIDBAR | NUMBERS 1:1-4:20

Days turn into weeks, weeks into months, and months in years until finally there is light at the end of the tunnel. We can find parallels between our days living in a global pandemic and the wanderings of the Israelites. This week we begin a new book of Torah, B’midbar, meaning in the wilderness/desert. The Israelite continue on their long wandering path to the Promised Land. Yet, the start of this book begins not with descriptions of their wanderings but with a census (of only the men of fighting age). In making this long journey, the Israelites needed to understand who they were. In our wanderings through this pandemic, what have you come to understand about yourself? What are you counting these days?
