Early Childhood Education Teacher

Full-time and Part-time Jobs

Possesses the knowledge of or willingness to learn and is comfortable representing the mission and vision of the Jennifer Rosen Meade Preschool and Temple de Hirsch Sinai. Includes understanding of and appreciation for Judaism and the role of Reform Judaism.

Responsible for maintaining control of and accounting for the whereabouts and safety of the children in care and ensuring children depart with authorized person.

Interacts with children using approved child guidance and development techniques in a positive nurturing environment while sustaining children’s interest and promoting positive interactions with other children and adults.
Prepares, arranges and maintains program environment areas and materials based on observed needs of individual children ranging in age from 4 weeks to 5 years to accommodate the daily schedule using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold as the foundation.

Attends and participates in Temple special events that are geared toward families and young children.

Demonstrates positive and clear communication skills with parents, co-teachers, and Temple staff.

Experience working with young children preferred.

Part Time Teachers for our Sunday/Weekday School Programs

A variety of positions available – from 8 week sessions to 11 month positions for grades K-8.

Some positions already have curriculum and structure developed, and others have room for creative license.

We have openings all over town- in Seattle/Capitol Hill, Bellevue, Mercer Island, as well as local home cohorts.

Most opportunities take place on Sunday mornings and weekday evenings.

For Hebrew positions:

Ability to read/decode Hebrew and have a familiarity with basic prayers.

Come to us with some knowledge of Jewish values, Jewish history, Jewish holidays, or Jewish text (depending on position) and we will give you what you need to be successful!

Unique talents or interests are welcome! Singers and guitar players, those with artistic or culinary talents, teachers who love the outdoors and/or have camp counselor experience, those with technical/social media skills, and teachers who can involve students and parents in social action projects are a plus!
